04/20/2012

Our April Health TechNet meeting focused on ways to assemble and analyze the wealth of available data into useful and effective information tools.

The meeting featured the presentations of Lloyd Brodsky of Optum Insight, Chip Perkins, former managing director, CAP STS of College for American Pathologists of Deerfield, IL, and Dr. Joe Bormel of Quadramed. Mr. Brodsky gave us an overview of Optum's software tool Impact Pro, which can help organizations analyze claims, pharmaceutical and lab data. Next, Chip Perkins provided us with perspectives on ICD-10 and SNOMED in the era of Meaningful Use, while Dr. Bormel gave us his ICD-10 perspectives of provider, CFO, CIO, CMO and program offices on risk and clinical documentation improvement.

The presentations of the speakers were followed by an active discussion among our members.
