Focus on Data AnalyticsBack

10/21/2016

Our October meeting of Health TechNet was held on Friday, October 21, from noon to 2 pm at TeqCorner in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia.

The feature topic was a discussion of recent developments in the use of “big data” to achieve usable information to improve care and patient treatment in various healthcare settings. The discussion was led by Lloyd Brodsky, who is a lead solution architect for Optum, where he designs clinical analytics in the Medicaid data warehouses practice. He has a doctorate from the Sloan business school at MIT and has been a solution architect since leaving academia twenty years ago.  We also had several other speakers from the data analytics industry.

There was also a discussion of the upcoming elections and the potential impact they may have on healthcare policy matters.
