The first meeting of Health TechNet of 2020 was held on Friday, January 24 from noon to 2 pm at Nelson Mullins’ offices in Washington, D.C. It focused on technology solutions relating to Social Determinants of Health (“SDoH”).
Many of us know that good healthcare outcomes are not solely dependent on the clinical care a patient receives. Social Determinants of Health for each patient/consumer are equally or even more important to their overall health status. Although this has been known for awhile, SDoH has become more prominent and critical recently, and is receiving new attention. A DC-based company has a newly developed data asset and is leveraging it to focus on SDoH to help providers and payors achieve better patient outcomes. We heard from Deanne Kasim of Change Healthcare and several other of our members on why SDoH is a key focus today, followed by a presentation by Shub Debgupta, CEO and Founder of Predict Health, which has a unique SDoH solution. Shub’s presentation is attached.
