Our March Health TechNet meeting focused on recent developments and the status of E-Prescribing, as well as its future ramifications for personalized medicine and care management.
The meeting featured the presentations of Kate Berry, SVP, Corporate Development for SureScripts, as well as Dr. Alan McKay, professor and Dean of the Shenandoah University School of Pharmacy in Winchester, VA. Ms. Berry provided us with an overview on the National Progress Report on E-Prescribing (copies of which were distributed), as well as the highlights and various legislative activities surrounding e-prescribing. Dr. McKay provided us with an overview of the ramifications of these trends and gave us a presentation on "Future of Personalized Medicine: moving from art to science".
These presentations were followed by a thorough discussion, and other matters of interest to the Washington area technology community were also discussed.
Presentations of the speakers are attached.
