Our April Health TechNet meeting focused on the Medical Home concept, an increasingly important topic as policy makers seek to improve the efficiency and quality of care through patient-centered primary physician care management.
The meeting featured the presentation of Kevin Dorrance, MD, FACP, Assistant Chief of Medicine and Department Head Internal Medicine at the National Naval Medical Center. Dr. Dorrance has many years of experience in this area and is leading a special project on medical home that is expected to demonstrate important factors leading to its success in various care settings. Other resources from members to evaluate medical home techniques were also present to help with the discussion.
There was also an active discussion of important evolving developments relating to the healthcare reform provisions of the stimulus legislation, which was led by Brian Wagner, the Director of Government Affairs for the eHealth Initiative.
Presentations of the speakers are attached.
