Our May 21st meeting, which was a Zoom call, featured an update on the Arlington Innovation Corridor relating to Amazon’s decision to build HQ2 in that area, and on the initiatives being planned and executed in conjunction with that decision. Our primary speaker was P.J. Maddox, PhD, Chair of the Department of Health Administration and Policy at George Mason University, who is a member of the Task Force planning for GMU’s Institution for Digital Innovation (IDIA), scheduled to open in the Arlington Corridor in 2025. Plans for this innovative center include significant allocation of space for the public and will be significant for high-tech health-oriented companies.
We also heard from David Main of Nelson Mullins and Deanne Kasim of Change Healthcare on the political and technology issues facing the development of a vaccine certification program. This subject will be addressed in more detail at a future Health TechNet meeting.
We also received a five-minute update from Charles Nahabedian, CEO of VideoKall, describing his company and its technology.
