Our September Health TechNet meeting focused on the work plan for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology as well as the development of Health Care Technology interests in Northern Virginia.
The meeting featured the presentations of Shanna Koss with Avalere Health LLC, and Anne Rosenblum with Fairfax County Economic Development Authority. Ms. Koss provided us with an overview on the Federal HIT Strategic Plan that was recently released on June 3 and seeks to guide the nationwide implementation of interoperable health information technology in both the public and private sectors. Ms. Rosenblum gave us a presentation on the development of Health Care Technology in Northern Virginia and the synergy between BIO and Health Care Industries as well as their trends.
Both presentations were followed by an active discussion.
