Our meeting on September 21, 2012 featured a discussion of the latest developments in mobile technology and telehealth with an emphasis on applicable business and legal challenges for this growing industry.
The discussion began with an overview of the current state of the mobile health and telehealth industry by Alexis Gilroy, a partner in Nelson Mullins’ Washington, D.C. office who focuses on transactional and business planning matters for all stages of telehealth and m-health companies. We then heard from Jill DeGraff Thorpe, VP and General Counsel of AFrame Digital, a local mobile health company, and Alex Nason, Director of Telehealth at Johns Hopkins, on the practical opportunities and hurdles facing m-health and telehealth companies and providers in the current marketplace and given the current regulatory environment.
