Our December Health TechNet meeting featured a wide-ranging discussion of pending Healthcare Reform legislation as well as the development of regulations under the S timulus B ill, scheduled to be released later this month.
In addition, we had two brief presentations from our members. The first by Praduman Jain of Vignet. Headquartered in the metro Washington DC area, Vignet provides connected health solutions for three screens -- MOBILE, PC and WEB-- for impact measurements that increase efficiency and effectiveness of care. Vignet technologies enable the convergence of health information from medical devices (wired or wireless), mobile phones, eHealth, PHRs, EMRs, DM systems and social media. The second presentation was provided by David Kovach and Terry Wolters of Reflection Solutions, which is a Technology Solutions Provider specializing in advanced technology solutions for industry and government, with a focus on unified communications and healthcare IT.
David Main with Pillsbury , and Claudia Ellison and Brian Wagner with the eHealth Initiative provided the group with a large amount of information on key issues under discussion, especially those relating to HIT, such as standards, certification, privacy, compliance, which led to an active discussion.
