Medicare Advantage Technology

12/13/19  Back

Health TechNet met on Friday, December 13 from noon to 2 pm at Nelson Mullins’ offices in Washington, D.C. It focused on Medicare Advantage plans, and challenges and solutions they present. Participation in these plans is growing rapidly as the American population is aging. We had three presenters and reviewed some interesting technology solutions in this area:

1) Matt White, who previously led Medicare plans for Humana. He started his career in corporate strategy and M&A for Humana, and went on to help Anthem design provider networks that would enable commercial and Medicaid retention in Medicare Advantage. Today, Matt is focused on leveraging technologies to help patients age well in place.

2) David Main, a partner with Nelson Mullins, who has extensive experience in Medicare Advantage and is General Counsel to the Medicare Advantage Plan Alliance, talked about MAPA’s strategies for working with CMS on regulatory and compliance issues.

3) Representatives from Innovaccer.com talked about their solution that is helping many healthcare providers and payers. The company leverages artificial intelligence and analytics to automate routine workflows and reduce manual overhead to facilitate more patient-centered care. Innovaccer's Data Activation Platform™ has been successfully implemented in healthcare institutions, government organizations, and corporate enterprises including Catholic Health Initiatives, MercyOne, Orlando Health, Hartford Healthcare, and Stratifi Health. By using the connected care framework, Innovaccer has unified more than twelve million patient records and generated more than $400M in savings. For more information, please visit innovaccer.com.
